Energy Bars
Have you been to your local supplement shop lately? If you have then you have probably seen all the different type of energy bars they have to offer. All of these energy bars are a great source of energy; you just have to what energy bar will give you the most for what workouts you are doing. Nutrient wise, energy bars are typically are around 70% carbohydrates, 20 % protein, and 10 % of fat by calories. Normally you would look at the carbohydrates, and protein.
Energy bars are great especially during long workouts that deplete your body of the carbohydrates and essential proteins. Cliff bar is one of my favorites. If I am running a marathon, I would normally just carry a cliff bar with me and just snack on it during my run. Eating small portions of the energy bar during your workout will provide you with a constant flow of energy to your body.
The best bar energy comes from eating a energy bar and drinking down a sports drink. The sports drink acts as a catalyst for the energy bar and will provide you with the best bar energy.
